Wada moved to 60-day DL

BALTIMORE — Baltimore Orioles rookie Tsuyoshi Wada, who is set to undergo Tommy John surgery on his left elbow, has been moved from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL, the team announced Monday.

Wada, who has a partially torn ligament in his elbow, was transferred to make room for right-hander Stu Pomeranz from Triple-A Norfolk.

The 31-year-old is scheduled to have the ligament-transfer operation at a hospital in Los Angles on Friday. He will require more than a year to fully recover.
